Setting up and Using CoffeeCup FreeFTP
Here are the setup instructions and the basic way to upload your webpage to TRAIN via FTP. Step 1: After you get the CoffeeCup FreeFTP Zip file extracted, simply double click on the "setup.exe".
Simply follow the instructions and click "Next". |
Step 2: This step is asking you what folder you would like to install CoffeeCup FreeFTP® installed to. It's best to leave this like it is unless you want it in a different directory. ![]() Again, Click "next". |
Step 3: The seteup is now asking you what you would like CoffeeCup FreeFTP® called. Again, its best to leave this at default. ![]() Just click "Next" here as well. |
Step 4: ![]() Setup is now ready to install your program to the default direcory once you click "Next". |
Step 5:![]() Setup will go through the installation and should be successfully installed on your computer. Click "Finish" to exit the setup. |
Step 6: If everything was left by default you should be able to click on the Start button and go to to programs. On the Fly-Out menu you should see the CoffeeCup FreeFTP® folder listed. Simply click on CoffeeCup FreeFTP® to start the program. ![]() |
Step 7: Once the program has started you need to add TRAIN as your server. TRAIN is where you will upload all of your pictures and web pages. Click on "Servers" then on "Add server". ![]() |
Step 8: Under the name field you should type in something easy to recognize as your Train web server. Something like "My Train Web Site ". Hostname/Address needs to say " www.gotrain.org ". Port needs to be left at 21 Since TRAIN requires a username and password you cannot login Anonymous. Click down where it says " Requires username and password". That will enable you to type in those 2 fields. Type in your username and password you use to connect to TRAIN. Under ":Local starting directory:" type "C:\webpage" (or if you have saved your web pages somewhere else on your computer you will need to enter the correct path to the folder it is in. Or you can just leave this feild blank). Leave "Remote starting directory:" blank. Everything is without the quotation marks. ![]() Once everything is entered correctly click "Cool". |
Step 9: Once everything is entered correctly simply hit the " Connect " button at the top left corner of the screen. This will connect to www.gotrain.org and place you in your directory / folder on the server (It knows which folder to log you into because of the Username and Password used). You will see two columns named Local and Server. Local is Your computer. Server is your folder / directory on the Train Server (your web site). Once you have your page completely ready to be uploaded, simply find your page on the Local side and drag it to the Server side. You now should be able to open your Internet Browser and type in http://www.gotrain.org/members/your-username and view your web page. ![]() |
