Area Recreational Opportunities

Even though Raymondville is a town of fewer than 500 people, don't let that fool you, because if you enjoy outdoor recreational activities, there's a lot to enjoy that's less than 30 minutes away from Raymondville.

Just a few miles east of Raymondville on highway B is the Golden Hills Trail Rides & Resort, which offers numerous opportunities to get away from it all in a first-class atmosphere. For more information, visit their website.

Boiling Springs is a frequently-visited access point on the Big Piney. It offers numerous opportunities for fishing, swimming, floating, and kicking back. To get there from Raymondville, go north on state route 137 about 9 miles and turn left on county route P. When P ends at U.S. 63, continue forward onto route BB and take it until it ends at Boiling Springs. For even more recreational opportunities, there's Boiling Springs Resort, which offers an opportunity to get away from it all on the banks of the Big Piney River.

Montauk State Park, in extreme southwestern Dent County, offers plenty of opportunities for fishing as well as nature trails, lodging and good restaurants. To get there from Raymondville, go north on state route 137 for about 9 miles and turn right on county route "VV" and take it until it ends at the entrance to Montauk State Park.
